Alessandro Risuleo

Alessandro Risuleo was born in Rome in 1971. He immediately became passionate about visual communication systems. After over twenty years of experience as an Art Director and advertiser, he has found in photography a means of artistic expression that allows him to escape and freely express his creativity.

Each of his works contains an implicit and precise message, which only careful observation can reveal. His photographs move between abstract, pictorial and hyperrealism. In his works you can find linear stories or stories just mentioned, as well as multiple references to the history of art: from classical sculpture to the great artists of the Renaissance, to Pop Art and the more contemporary Street Art. Some recurring themes emerge in his projects: attention to the study of the expressiveness of the naked body and a continuous play of references between the work, the author and the observer. It is the spectator who becomes the absolute protagonist with his personal interpretative key.

A photographic technique brought to the maximum of expressive potential, a masterful use of light and shadows, a great mastery of digital techniques and an openness to new technologies are the ingredients that make his work, which has already been exhibited with success in different contexts: from the 16th China International Photographic Art Exhibition to the 2015 Biennale of Photography, to the MIA Photo Fair in 2014 and 2015, in 2016 at the ABIDAD international fair in Sao Paulo – Brazil, again in 2016 in the personal exhibition in ROME in the NUMEN contemporary art gallery and in November 2017 at the Queens Museum in New York.

In 2021 he won the prestigious bronze medal at the TRIERENBERG SUPER CIRCUIT 2021 organized by the Austrian Federation of Photo Art and was appointed as the Italian representative in the World Photographic Cup 2021.
