Humberto Segura, 43 years old, chilean living in Barcelona, Spain for almost 5 years now.
In the year 2017 he tooks a huge step and decided to quit my job as a lawyer in Chile, and leave his country in order to pursue a career in photography.
That’s why he cames to Barcelona and studied photography for two years in Grisart school of photography.
Over these years he have continuously trying to improve his craft specializing in portraits, real estate and street photography.
This last one being the style of photography that he enjoy the most and his “first love” in photography.
In this area he have been mostly self taught, reading lots of books on the subject, and trying to study as much as he can about not only the technical aspects of street photography, but studying the work of great ones as Saul Leiter, Alexei Titarenko, Cartier-Bresson, Sergio Larrain, and others.
He is in a constant pursue of perfecting the street photography style, although lately he haven’t been able to dedicate as much time to it as he would like to. Even though it´s an ever present “photography love” so he don’t see that going away anytime soon.
I guess my work its characterized by a strong sense of composition and geometry and the fact that he s always trying to add a sense of story to it, a bit more depth than something just aesthetically pleasing.
